International Theater Festival and artificial intelligence
The Iași International Theater Festival for Young Audiences raises the curtain for the 14th edition.
After a successful edition held during the pandemic, the Iași International Theater Festival for Young Audiences returns with a new concept that will surprise the audience for 10 days and break any barrier between online and offline.
This year's edition focuses on the whole format of art and technology present in our daily lives and promises viewers to discover theater art with the help of artificial intelligence.
Thus, the organizers of the event have prepared a series of shows for the period 1-10 October, among which are: "Jurnal de România.1989" - National Theater in Bucharest; "The Lesson" - Nottara Theatre; "Quiet! Kiss. Action!" - Odeon Theatre; Romanian Playwrights Theater with "Jungla TéVé", Bucharest Act Theater - "Rosto".
One of the most original performances will be the one signed by Ada Milea with the troupe of the National Theater from Cluj-Napoca, a show-concert in which, alongside the actors, two robots with artificial intelligence will also take to the stage.
In addition to the two robots present in the artistic act, the spectators will have the opportunity to interact, before and after the theatrical performances, with the social robot Pepper which will give them an unforgettable experience. Pepper will sing, dance, talk about FITPTI, take the stage and immortalize the moments with his fans through a selfie.
The collaboration between the festival organizers and IRIS ROBOTICS started during the pandemic, when the actors from the "Luceafarul" Theater needed visors to be able to continue playing and to be safe. The discussions with Mrs. Oltița Cîntec, the artistic director of the "Luceafărul" Theater and the FITPTI curator for almost a year, continued and thus led to a new collaboration: International Theater Festival for the Young Audience Iași.
Considering the theme of this year's edition - art and technology, the collaboration between the two meant exploring theatrical art from different perspectives, accepting digital in everyone's life and opening new horizons.
