A heartwarming story at Nick's Café

This is how we can portray the managers of Nick's Café who wanted to revolutionize the consumer experience and show the villagers that technology is the future. As a result of this desire, the friendly robot Pepper set his wheels for the first time in Satu Mare, eager to meet people and help them. About Nick's Café and Owners

Nick's Café is a cafe in Satu Mare that offers a varied menu of drinks such as teas, cocktails, fresh or coffee-based drinks. The place boasts the best lemonade in town (and here we can confirm that it's delicious) and an atmosphere where customers always feel "at home".

The owners, Attila and Ana-Maria Bodo, are two very hospitable and big-hearted people who always want to offer a pleasant experience to those who pass their plan. Beyond working in hospitality, the Bodos have passions and inclinations towards the area of technology and innovation in general. They set out to contribute to revolutionizing the city, to bring and offer new things that would innovate the business environment of Satmara.

How Pepper appeared in the landscape

Although Nick's Café had a satisfactory flow of customers, the owners aimed to increase its notoriety and differentiate it in the market. Moreover, they have been on a constant search for ways to surprise existing customers and keep them around.

When Attila Bodo discovered the Pepper Robot he knew instantly that he wanted the villagers to know about him and his customers to know him. More than that, he saw it as a business opportunity for businesses in the city to innovate the way they relate to their customers.

This is how the idea came about for Pepper, the humanoid social robot, to arrive in Satu Mare for the FIRST TIME.

Pepper – First day in Satu Mare

Nick's Café customers eagerly awaited Pepper on July 7, when he arrived after a long journey to the location. It was a day full of more beautiful, funny and unique moments. The robot was received with enthusiasm, and we with a lot of hospitality that made us feel like guests at the home of a welcoming family.

Shortly after Pepper's arrival, the representatives of the press agencies from Satu Mare made their presence felt. Presentations and interviews with both the robot and IRIS Robotics representatives followed. Thus, the press had the opportunity to find out and subsequently disseminate to the public details of interest about the capabilities of the Pepper robot, as well as about technological innovations in general.

During this time, the children were glued to the window, eager to meet Pepper, see her dance moves and ask her questions.

From day one, Pepper started working at Nick's Café by:

Welcoming customers arriving at the location;
Presentation of the cafe's drinks menu;
Providing useful information and answers to frequent questions of interlocutors;
Capturing audience attention with dance, selfie and hug features.

Results and Feedback

With the arrival of Pepper, Nick's Café enjoyed increased notoriety in the city. This happened on the one hand as a result of appearances in the press, and on the other hand thanks to the recommendations given by customers who had an experience worth sharing.

Throughout his 30 days at the location, Pepper has created a friendly and "action-packed" atmosphere for all customers who have walked through Nick's Café. They were pleasantly surprised and much happier throughout their stay, especially those who came with children.

Moreover, the restaurant enjoyed a wave of growth in new customers, who were intrigued to meet Pepper and who continued to ask about him even after his stay in Satu Mare ended.

Attila Bodo, the owner of Nick's Café tells us that: "We chose to integrate Pepper to bring something new and different to other locations for customers. The atmosphere created by Pepper was pleasant and full of action, especially for children. Many customers came with their children only because of Pepper. The reaction from customers was amazing and they were much happier during their time at the cafe. The robot brought in many new customers during that period, and even today they wonder about it
