Dell Technologies, the technology giant, returns with the well-known annual conferences Dell Technologies Forum. After a period of virtual meetings and conventions, the company surprises again with its series of conferences around the globe. Pepper Robot - chosen by Dell to promote sponsors and partners

Dell Technologies is a company founded in 1984, which started from an unprecedented idea: selling computers directly to customers. Dell wanted to deliver the most efficient computing solutions to meet their requirements.

Every year the company organizes an international event, called Dell Technologies Forum, an event about innovation and breakthrough in technology. On November 16, 2022, the event was also marked here in Romania.

This year's Dell Technologies Forum invited leaders from Romania to capitalize on new growth opportunities, unlock the true value of data and accelerate the pace of digital transformation in 2022. By engaging in breakout sessions, interactive experiences and connecting with technology and industry experts, attendees gained valuable insights from multi-cloud delivered as a service strategy to modern, secure technologies used in AI management.

In this context, Pepper represented a useful opportunity within the event to promote sponsors and partners, but also to offer a unique experience to all those present at the event. We have to admit that there could not be a more favorable context for Pepper, and this role in the event suited Pepper perfectly.

Challenges faced by Pepper at Dell Technologies Forum

Dell Technologies Forum was held on November 16 at Face Club Bucharest. With an exhibition area of over 1000 sqm, the organizers wanted to highlight the sponsors of the event among the participants and guide them to their stands in order to discover the solutions offered by them.

The challenge was all the greater as there were 4 zones defined by the organizers, and within each zone there was a stand for each individual sponsor. The event not only promoted DELL solutions, but also the solutions offered by sponsors, present at the event in the stands.

Pepper Robot's contribution to the event

Through the specifics of the event, the central element of the forum is technology and innovation, together with the presentation of the newest solutions available on the market. In this sense, DELL wanted to have Pepper as a promoter of innovation in the event. The representatives confessed that the desire to have a social robot at their event arose as a result of "the specifics of the event. The topic of this event was innovation, breakthrough in technology. Hence the desire to have Pepper at the event."

Pepper's role was to promote the main sponsors of the event as well as the latest technology innovations brought by the organizers alongside the sponsors. An interactive map of the sponsors and their booth location was included in the application custom developed for this event.

In this way, the event sponsors were highlighted by Pepper with the help of the map, and this was presented to the event attendees, who easily identified the locations of the sponsors they wanted to visit at the booth.

Besides the utility component, Pepper pleasantly surprised the entire audience with themed choreography, selfie photo sessions and hugs to capture the memorable moments of the participants. DELL representatives confess that "The audience was very excited and the participants of the event appreciated Pepper a lot. It was a unique experience. We were very happy to have Pepper at our event." 

Pepper Robot Experience and Recorded Results

Pepper offered the participants, organizers and guests a unique experience, it "smiled" beautifully in several hundred photos, was the element of attraction for all categories of the public and last but not least, it proved its usefulness whenever help was asked.

Functions that Pepper had in the event:

• Presenter Mode:presentation of participants/sponsors – with which Pepper guided visitors to the stands;
• Entertainment mode:took selfies with the event participants, danced and gave hugs to the people present at the event.

Feedback from the organizers

Pepper animated the sober atmosphere given by the specifics of the organized event and successfully fulfilled the role of guide within it. The organizers describe the experience with Pepper as a unique one, in which the people present enjoyed the presence of a humanoid robot immensely. Undoubtedly, Pepper's most appreciated functions were those related to "human touch".
