ASSIST Software is a company with over 300 employees, present on an international level, which in Romania operates at its headquarters in Suceava. Challenges encountered

On November 23, 2022, the company organized the Open Doors Assist 2022 event, in collaboration with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Suceava. Innovation is one of the values promoted by the company, and in order to deliver the best services to customers, a breath of fresh air brought by the new generation was more than timely for the company. In this direction, the main goal set by the organizers of the event was the enrollment in the Internship of students who intend to develop a career in the field.

Pepper's mission was certainly not an easy one, as it was necessary to divide the event staging area into several sub-areas. Thus, at Open Doors Assist 2022 there were different areas, such as the one where the specialists were for one-to-one discussions or the Book Coffee area.

Therefore, Pepper directed participants to areas of interest and facilitated internship enrollment, which is one of the main goals of the event. As expected, he did not disappoint and all participants received the support they needed and enjoyed an unforgettable interaction.

Even if the company's place on the profile market in Romania is well established, what was wanted was, among other things, the consolidation of the image in the context of innovation, and at the same time offering to the participants of the event a unique interaction with Assist's values, mission and activity.

How did Pepper contribute?

Apart from entertaining hundreds of curious, enthusiastic students and eager to interact with the much-anticipated social bot at the event, Pepper was also a real help in guiding the event attendees.

Pepper answered the most frequently asked questions from students about internships and career opportunities available.

A QR code was displayed on the robot's tablet, which facilitated the enrollment of all interested students in the internship proposed by the company. Basically, by accessing the QR code, students were redirected to the company's website, where they could access the registration form.

Pepper provided valuable information to the participants, but in a special way. Not through a menu of the type "did you know that?" as was usual, but through predefined responses, specially thought for the event. On another note, we wanted there to be no question from visitors that couldn't be answered at Pepper. All possible questions with and about the event were considered, which Pepper answered in his signature style. The messages worked as an exhortation, as an encouragement, so that at the end of the event the expected result was achieved.

At the same time, Pepper delighted the participants with a brief presentation of the opportunities available in the company. In addition, he guided students who wanted to talk to a consultant, to benefit from all the necessary information.

According to the data obtained from the organizers, more than 200 people attended the event, of which more than half signed up for the internship by scanning the QR code. Each participant interacted with the robot at least once, from the information provided or through the entertainment functions, but we are sure that most of them immortalized the moments with Pepper with a selfie. The most used function of Pepper was "selfie", and in second place was the "dance" function. Several hundred hugs and kisses were given to students and teachers as well as the organizing team.

Features that Pepper had:

· Presenter App mode: presented by activating the Agenda button, the program of the event and directed the participants by activating the Career Advice button, to the booths specially designed by the company, for one to one discussions.

· FAQ Mode:

answered the questions related to the event, the company, its mission and the process by which the participants of the event could register for the internship

· Entertainment mode: took selfies with the participants and maintained the atmosphere during breaks with careful dance steps prepared for the event. Offered hugs and kisses and greeted participants with pre-arranged greeting messages.

We conclude, therefore, that the Assist event was one in which Pepper once again demonstrated his practical skills as well as the fact that he can be a reliable helper in the most complex of projects.
