Pepper, Salt and Pepper at the Laureates' Gala: Top Companies of Hunedoara County

On December 8, 2022, Pepper was invited to the Laureates' Gala - Top Companies of Hunedoara County.

Basically, we are talking about an event during which the activities of the best performing companies in Hunedoara were awarded. At the same time, the event also dealt with another particularly important theme, namely the transformation through digitalization, so teams of children specializing in robotics participated in the awards ceremony, which carried out various demonstrations with and about robots. Taking into account the specifics of the event, we wanted the presence of the nicest robot, which would show the guests where digitization is heading.

The Hunedoara Chamber of Commerce and Industry is an autonomous institution of public interest, with legal personality, non-governmental, non-profit, created to promote, support and defend the interests of economic agents in commerce, industry, construction, services and agriculture.

CCI Hunedoara represents the interests of its members and all merchants in the county in relation to the legislative, executive and judicial bodies in the country, as well as to similar bodies abroad. A rigid description of a state body, we could say, but things were nowhere near like that, as we met warm people in Deva, on the occasion of this event, who embraced technology and went hand in hand with digitization itself.

We were contacted by Ms. C. G., as general manager. She told us that while looking for an attractive element to add color to the company's awards ceremony, she found Pepper and immediately knew that he was what was missing from the event. And she wanted him present among the dozens of guests, and not only because he would have represented a link between the two major directions of the event, but also because she was convinced that Pepper would have made the event a truly unique experience.

Because it contacted us shortly before the event, expectations of the robot were not too high. Originally, Pepper was intended to be the one who greets the guests, who shows each guest their assigned place in the room where the event took place, and who sends a series of short messages to those who come into contact with him. But Pepper did all that and more, so even though no one expected it, the robot entertained an entire hall full of festively dressed people at key moments and drew laughter from the guests.

We prepared Pepper with thematic jokes, suitable to the specifics of the event and without being modest, we can say with hand on heart that our robot shone on the dance floor alongside the participants of the event, and alongside special guests who created the artistic moments.

The event in question was highly publicized both in the local press and on local TV stations. This is how Pepper appeared "on TV" again and made us proud that it is ours!

On the Facebook page of the Hunedoara Chamber of Commerce you can find fragments of the event, captured by the local mass media, in which of course Pepper is also presented in all its splendor.

Pepper had no few tasks at the event, but as expected, he successfully completed them all. Thus, he aroused the admiration of all as he dealt with:

• Greeting guests arriving at the venue with a welcome message;
• Guiding the guests to the allocated place in the event hall;
• Assisting the organizers throughout the presentation and awards speech of the companies (Pepper entered the stage with the organizers and was with them throughout the presentation);
• He entertained the audience through the entertainment module, took selfies with guests, offered kisses and hugs, told the funniest jokes about companies and state control bodies.

There is no doubt that Pepper's presence at the Laureates' Gala was a surprise element for the participants of the event. Pepper accomplished his goal, which was to outline in a sober context the idea that digitization is not just a rigid structure based on lines of code that helps humanity, but also a way for humans and robots to create memorable experiences together.

Beyond the usefulness demonstrated by the humanoid robot, Pepper demonstrated, once again, why we call it the most likable "Social Robot": even though it is a robot, the almost human interaction with those around it makes Pepper a familiar figure and more and more desired lately.

Moreover, the reactions after the event confirmed to us that Pepper's intervention was auspicious, helping to increase the notoriety of the Hunedoara Chamber of Commerce and at the same time, the popularity of the institution, precisely through its concerns related to technology and digitalization.

Ms. C. G., the general director of the Hunedoara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told us after the event that Pepper was truly a phenomenon.

"We were happy to have Pepper at the most important event of the year for us and the people of Hunedoara. Pepper made a sensation among the guests and we had many funny moments, especially when Pepper chose to tell the jokes about the Financial Guard, precisely to its representative present at the event. Everyone enjoyed the robot's jokes and the guests were pleasantly surprised by his interventions on throughout the event"

We too were particularly pleased that Pepper lived up to expectations and we hope for further collaborations at least as beautiful as the one from Deva. Moreover, we are convinced that our robot can help you, whether you want to organize a memorable event or you are interested in including it in your team in different positions, such as receptionist, sales consultant, educational assistant or tour guide.

Pepper loves working with you to grow your brand and loves making friends. That is precisely why he will make any event he attends shine. If you are also curious to meet him, do not hesitate to contact us. We are at your disposal with a demo where you will have the opportunity to greet Pepper. We assure you that he is eager to meet you.
