Diagnostics, repairs, updates and the Pepper+ upgrade for Pepper robots from Romania and the rest of the European Union. Diagnostics cost EUR 250 plus VAT and are deducted in full from the labour cost if you approve the repair.

What changed after 1 October 2026
Manufacturer support for Pepper has gaps in Europe. The robot itself is still a robot we can check and repair.
What the manufacturer says
Maxtronics Robotics, the Maxvision subsidiary (Maxvision bought Aldebaran's assets in 2025), states publicly that Pepper cloud services ended on 1 October 2026.
Maxtronics also states that there is currently no official Pepper support centre in Europe and that its own support is limited to NAO 6.
What you can do for your robot
Tell us what no longer works. During diagnostics we check the robot at our workshop and tell you in writing what can be repaired and what it costs.
For an older Pepper there is also the Pepper+ upgrade: the Pepper+ kit from SoftBank Robotics, with a new 11-inch tablet and the updated system, plus our applications in Romanian and English.

We first check the robot at our service centre, then fit the new tablet, install the Pepper+ system and reinstall our applications.

How to send a Pepper from another EU country
We work the same way with robots from Romania and from the rest of the European Union.
Write to us
Tell us which robot you have, which country it is in and what the problem is. A short video of the fault and the robot's serial numbers (Head ID and Body ID) help.
We agree the transport
We arrange transport on request, at actual cost, which we confirm in writing before booking. You can also send the robot with your own carrier.
You pack the robot
The robot travels in its original box, with the transport pins fitted and the emergency stop button pressed. The battery is declared as UN3481.
Diagnostics and estimate
We run diagnostics at our workshop and send you a written estimate. We do no work without your written approval.
We repair and send it back
After the repair the robot goes back to you. The return transport is quoted separately.

Diagnostics have a fixed price. You get the repair and transport prices in writing before you approve them.

What happens to Pepper after 1 October 2026?
Maxtronics, which took over Aldebaran's business, states that Pepper cloud services ended on 1 October 2026. The robot can still be checked and repaired at our centre in Iași. Tell us what no longer works and we check it during diagnostics.
Is there an official Pepper service centre in Europe?
Maxtronics states that there is currently no official Pepper support centre in Europe. IRIS Robotics runs the Pepper service centre in Iași, Romania, where we diagnose and repair robots from across the European Union.
How much do diagnostics cost?
EUR 250 plus VAT per robot. If you approve the repair, the amount is deducted in full from the labour cost.
How much does a repair cost?
It depends on the fault and the parts. You get the price in a written estimate after the physical inspection, and we only work once you approve it in writing.
How does the robot get to Iași from another country?
We arrange transport on request, at actual cost, confirmed in writing before booking. The return is quoted separately. You can also send the robot with your own carrier: we give you the workshop address and the packing instructions.
How do I pack the robot?
In its original box, with the transport pins fitted and the emergency stop button pressed, and the box stretch-wrapped. The battery is declared as UN3481. If you no longer have the transport pins, write to us.
How are companies in other EU countries invoiced?
Companies in the European Union with a valid VAT number are invoiced without VAT, under the reverse charge.
Can you upgrade my robot to Pepper+?
Yes. We first check the robot at our service centre, then fit the Pepper+ kit from SoftBank Robotics, with the new 11-inch tablet, and reinstall our applications. Pepper+ is also available as a 12- or 24-month subscription.
Do you also service NAO robots?
For NAO we take the service request and pass it on to the manufacturer or to our partner Clinica Roboților. Maxtronics states that its support covers NAO 6. Our centre in Iași repairs Pepper and Pepper+.
