Pepper the robot with expectant mothers in the “YES, I CAN!” caravan

This time, we were happy to see the Pepper robot in the Iași edition of the "YES, I CAN!" caravan, organized by Armonia Hospital. As expected, the entire event was a success, fulfilling both the purpose of informing expectant mothers and creating a memorable experience for them.
The caravan "YES, I CAN!" – a common voice for doctors and mothers-to-be
Armonia Hospital was born 14 years ago and from its foundation until now, it has stood out for the dedication with which it treats each individual patient. Whether the clinic's patients are dealing with couple infertility, delicate situations during pregnancy, want assistance in childbirth or simply need a specialist outpatient consultation, the doctors of this clinic treat them "as part of their family".
This is why Armonia Hospital was designated by UNICEF as a "Child-Friendly Hospital". Along with the exceptional medical activity, the clinic also stands out for its social involvement, so it established the Pangea Association. This is a non-profit organization that promotes a healthy lifestyle for mother and child.
There are several campaigns organized within the association, such as "Smile Donor and Blood Donor", "June with Joy" or the "YES, I CAN!" caravan, through which it supports patients, future mothers and children.
Having the goal of informing and educating the young generations of parents throughout the country, the Iași edition of the caravan brought together specialists in the care of pregnant women and assisting in childbirth, with important topics being discussed, such as natural birth in water, birth at home or breastfeeding in the first days of the baby.
WHY Pepper?
This is not the first time that Pepper has participated in a medical event. For example, he was the host at CardioNET 2022 Congress, organized by the Romanian Society of Cardiology and the Hungarian Society of Cardiology, where he provided the participants with relevant information and entertained them with dancing and selfies.
In addition, our robot is of real support to doctors and patients, so it can be used for awareness campaigns, but also to improve medical services. He can give patients general information and interact with them in a personalized way by understanding their emotions. That is precisely why Pepper creates an empathetic environment in medical offices, contributing to the improvement of the doctor-patient relationship.
Knowing how Pepper can be the key tool of a successful medical conference, we were delighted when Armonia Hospital chose him as the host of the "YES, I CAN!" caravan. As the representative of the clinic tells us "The "Yes, I Can!" Caravan is an information and education campaign for parents, which gathers a large number of participants every time.
The organizing team chose Pepper's presence to provide general information, while the event organizers could focus on other actions regarding how to run the event. At the same time, this provided convenience and transparency, as we were able to tailor the information to answer every question an attendee might have." Mrs. Sofia Gunea testifies.
Our solution
Pepper was responsible during the event both for informing the caravan participants, by familiarizing them with the medical services offered at Armonia Hospital, but also for educating future mothers about childbirth, breastfeeding and baby care.
For the "YES, I CAN" Caravan, IAțI edition, Pepper has been configured with the following functions:
- Welcoming mothers-to-be - by detecting people at a distance of 50-70cm, Pepper interacted with the participants of the event, offering them a friendly welcome;
- Entertainment and good mood - through selfies, dances and hugs, he ensured everyone a unique experience of participating in the "YES, I CAN!" caravan. and entertained his interlocutors, creating unique moments for adults, but also for children;
- Frequently Asked Questions - where our bot answered all the questions about available birth packages and essential information for expectant mothers;
- Interactive presentation of maternity at Armonia Hospital - through an attractive video that explains the entire birth experience
Pepper's results at the "YES, I CAN!" caravan
When you have Pepper as a host at an event, you can effectively monitor the results you will get, to be able to analyze his contribution to improving your company's activity. The representative of Armonia Hospital explains to us how the atmosphere was created by the friendly robot and what were the reactions of the participants, as follows: "Pepper was a point of attraction that aroused everyone's curiosity and sympathy, but also a very effective tool to receive guests with friendly welcome messages, to direct them to the conference room, to answer the questions of those present at the event. Pepper has once again succeeded in creating a bridge between a company and its target audience. As such, he proved to be a wonderful host, who captures attention and communicates effectively, both to promote services and support effective awareness campaigns on the importance of a gentle birth, but also by entertaining the interlocutors with unique entertainment functions, to the delight of all the people present.
