According to the industry standard, 3d printing speed is defined as the amount of volume that can be turned into a solid per unit of time. Traditionally, low-cost 3d printers are slow due to their inefficient methods of rendering 3d objects. Filament deposition (FDM / FFF) and SLA laser printers are among the slowest due to their need to essentially trace an entire line pattern. A better way to build a geometric 3D object is to project each slice onto a liquid bath and do one layer at a time. Digital Light Processing (DLP) printers and LCD printers work this way and are therefore the fastest desktop 3d printers to date.

However, these cars are still limited. Both DLP and LCD use photopolymerization, which is an exothermic chemical reaction that generates a large amount of heat at the thin separation interface. When printing large solid objects at high speed, the temperature can quickly reach 260 to 315° Celsius and damage the film. Because of this problem, the printer cannot go faster. DLP printers' potential for fast printing is slowed by its optical structure, which must remain barrier-free and limit the amount of heat that can be extracted from the interface.

To overcome this problem, we use a specific LCD contact exposure method that allows us to integrate liquid cooling as close to the interface as possible. This makes it possible to extract a large amount of heat and allows the printing of large solid objects at a higher speed than most other 3D printers.

Before SLASH +, speeds of 1000 cc/h were only achievable with large industrial machines, for very high costs.This technology is now within reach!
