CR-Scan Raptor

CR-Scan Raptor is a hybrid 3D scanner that combines multi-line blue laser with NIR scanning based on binocular infrared structured light. It is designed for metrological level results, with high accuracy and stable scanning, including for technical parts, automotive components, molds, small to large sized objects, but also for applications such as reverse engineering, inspection and AR/VR.

In the blue laser mode, it uses 7 parallel lines, and the accuracy can reach up to 0.02 mm. The mode is optimal for fine details and clear edges, with very thin laser lines, up to 0.1 mm, to obtain a cloud of points with better defined contours. The scanning rate in this mode is 420,000 measurements per second, with a speed of up to 60 fps. The single capture area is 270 x 170 mm at 300 mm, and the working distance is 150-400 mm. For outdoor use, it supports ambient lighting up to 50,000 lux. The volumetric accuracy for the product is 0.05 mm + 0.1 mm/m.

In NIR mode with structured infrared light, CR-Scan Raptor allows fast and direct scanning, including without markers in many situations, using speckle matching and One-Shot 3D imaging technology. The scanning rate reaches 3,580,000 measurements per second, with a speed of up to 20 fps. The single capture area is 665 x 574 mm at 1000 mm, and the working distance is 170-1000 mm. For outdoor scanning, the NIR mode is recommended up to 30,000 lux.

To cover a wide range of applications, the CR-Scan Raptor can scan objects from very small, starting with 5 x 5 x 5 mm³, to large objects up to 2000 x 2000 x 2000 mm³. In addition, it is promoted as being able to scan black and metallic objects without sprays, including car parts, bodies, tires and other difficult surfaces, depending on the conditions and the scanning mode used.

Color scanning is available in 24-bit, and the texture lighting system uses 12 circular LEDs that improve color mapping, including in darker environments. The system includes dual-color lighting, with blue light used as support for laser scanning and white light used to enhance textures and colors.

For stability in handheld use, the scanner uses One-Shot 3D imaging technology, which reduces the risk of losing tracking and offers fast backtracking, for a more fluid scan. There's also a dedicated face and body mode, with a mapping algorithm that captures more detail and can perform a body scan in about 2 minutes, according to the presentation.

From a constructive point of view, CR-Scan Raptor has optics oriented towards stability and precision, with a lens with a large depth of field type phi 20 mm, reduced distortion below 5‰, optical system with 9 glass elements and metal components for the body and lens support. A high-precision glass calibration plate is included for calibration, and the use is ergonomically designed, with one-hand control, status indicator ring, buttons, anti-slip handle and detachable cord. The weight of the scanner is 372 g.

In terms of compatibility, it works with Windows 10 or 11 on 64 bit, recommended with Intel i7 processor generation 7 or newer, Nvidia graphics card with at least 6 GB VRAM and at least 16 GB RAM. On macOS, it supports versions from 11.7.7 and up, with Apple M1, M2 or M3 processors and at least 16 GB of RAM. Wireless scanning is supported when used with dedicated wireless accessories.

CR-Scan Raptor is suitable for metrological inspection, modeling and dimensional verification, reverse engineering, auto parts scanning, medical applications, mold production, figure scanning and AR/VR projects, offering a good balance between speed, precision and flexibility in scanning.
