Otter Lite/Basic 3D scanner

Otter Lite is a portable 3D scanner designed for fast scanning, without cables, with direct control from the phone and a simple workflow from capture to export. It is suitable when you need to scan in the field, in the workshop or at the client, without a complicated setup, but with sufficiently clean results for modeling, 3D printing, reverse engineering and visual presentations.

On the mobility side, the strong point is wireless scanning and real-time preview on the phone. Practically, you immediately see what the scanner captures, you can control the session on the go and you don't waste time with cumbersome transfers. Communication via WiFi 6 is made for fast transmission, with low latency, so that the experience remains fluid even when scanning larger objects or doing longer sessions. The same package includes the Lite Bridge handle with integrated battery, which supports extended scans. For use outside, it is very important that you can work without depending on a laptop next to you.

In terms of scanning capabilities, Otter Lite covers a wide range of sizes, from small objects to large objects. The communicated range is 20 to 2000 mm, so it fits well for parts, decorative objects, design elements, but also for larger volume captures. The scanning speed reaches up to 30 fps, which helps with more stable captures and a natural movement around the object, without the feeling that you have to move very slowly in order not to lose tracking. For fine details, the accuracy is mentioned up to 0.05 mm, which positions it as a serious solution for scans where edges, contours and small reliefs matter.

Scanning stability is supported by functions that reduce tracking loss. Otter Lite uses a one-shot 3D imaging approach, and the practical idea is that it tracks the object better and handles small hand tremors better. In addition, it has support for marker scanning, with 8 infrared lights that help track markers when the surface of the object is uniform or has few geometric landmarks.

Another very useful point in the real world is the behavior on difficult surfaces. Otter Lite is promoted for scanning black or metallic objects without spray. This matters a lot in demonstrations, in automotive, with shiny parts or in situations where you don't want to apply substances to the object. For better results in low light, it has integrated lighting, so that texture and details are captured more clearly and consistently.

For projects where visual appearance matters, Otter Lite offers 24-bit color scanning, with full color RGB camera and color mapping algorithm. This is useful for artistic objects, heritage, decorative objects, products for presentation, but also for marketing materials, where you want a 3D model that looks realistic, not just a gray geometry.

From the point of view of the software ecosystem, Otter Lite comes with CrealityScan 4.0, which covers the scanning and post processing side in a friendly way. You have full-screen scanning, multi-scan alignment, point cloud and mesh editing, marker mode and AI-assisted repair functions. In practice, this means that you can clean up the model, merge multiple captures and get a usable file without immediately jumping into advanced tools. For integration into common flows, the export is intended to be compatible with modeling and 3D printing software.
