Amy is the autonomous waiter robot that takes the pressure off restaurant and café staff during peak hours. She greets customers at the door, delivers dishes to the table (up to 5 kg per tray) and returns plates to the service staff. Precise navigation via ultrasonic, infrared and lidar sensors.
Basic functionalities
1. Reception and welcoming customers
Upon entering the restaurant, Amy will use sensors and a camera to detect proximity to customers and greet them. Depending on the route Amy is on, she will greet those on that path.
2. Automatic delivery of preparations
Amy will bring to the customers the order requested by them with the help of the tray. The robot tray has a maximum capacity of 5 kg. A platform for processing orders at restaurant tables can also be integrated on the tablet.
3. Returning the plates
Developed to deal with a predefined trajectory, Amy makes sure to tighten plates up to its maximum capacity of 5kg. Later, this will lead them to the staff in the restaurant.
4. Autonomous navigation
High accuracy in identifying the shortest route with the help of three components that ensure the distance to obstacles, traversing the trajectory on the map and constantly updating the environment in which it is located. The three components targeted are ultrasonic sensors, infrared sensors and lidar.
5. Autonomous loading
Amy detects low battery and identifies the fastest route to the charging mechanism. From the moment the robot approaches the mechanism, it will charge for a predefined period until it reaches the maximum level.
6. Automatic obstacle avoidance
Amy increases the productivity of current employees in a restaurant and helps them with the high volume of orders during busy periods. Thanks to the development of functionalities dedicated to navigation, Amy detects the proximity of obstacles and redefines the route she takes.
Besides the basic functionalities, functionalities requested by the beneficiary can be developed. They can enhance already existing functionality or be custom built.
